The Pinakothek der Moderne is currently closed, so too are the four museum collections held under its roof. During the renovations, each collection’s exhibits withdraw to the storerooms or go into hibernation, hidden beneath dust-proof plastic membranes in the empty galleries. What does a collection look like when it’s not on display? The prize-wining, internationally active artist Kathrin Sonntag (* 1981, lives and works in Berlin) has created an audio-visual installation especially for the Schaustelle that explores the question of how we form an image of something that cannot be seen.
